Chili con Carne

Tuesday dinner,
Chili con Carne.
In this recipe
I put beer
which gives
a specific flavor
to the original
recipe
and it's just
yummie to the bone!

Ingredients

1/2 kg ground beef
2 Tbsp red chili powder
1 Tbsp ground cumin
2 teaspoons ground oregano
1 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
Salt
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 jalapeño chili peppers, stems removed, seeded, ribs removed, minced
1 can tomato sauce
2 1/2 cups water
1/3 cup beer
1 can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
Red & green pepper for garnish

Procedure

1 In a small bowl mix the chili powder, , ground cumin, oregano, thyme, and ground coriander seeds. Mix in water so that chili forms a light paste. Set aside.
2 Cook ground beef in oil, Add the chopped onions and sauté until soft, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and jalapeño, cook until fragrant, 1 minute more. Add the chili paste
you made and cook for 2-3 more minutes.
3,Then add tomato sauce and
beer, let it simmer and reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 30 mins when the sauce is reduced gently add the kidney beans and seasons w/ salt and pepper.
4, Serve w/ rice and garnish w/ red and green bell pepper( red onion and cheddar cheese will do too) and my favorite parsley.
